Federal Migration Service announced the start-up of a means to facilitate the recruitment of foreign specialists

The Federal Migration Service of Russia and the European Business Association announced the joint development of a means to facilitate the recruitment of foreign highly qualified specialists.

The service allows employers who are representatives of foreign business in Russia, to submit electronic applications and packages of documents for registration of foreign employees in the electronic form. The Federal Migration Service experts review the submitted applications and documents within 14 days.

The head of the Federal Migration Service, Konstantin Romodanovsky, said that the status of a highly qualified specialist gives foreigners in Russia a significant advantage and a number of benefits to cooperate with migration services. The goal of the new system is to make the getting of this status clear, simple and controlled. The new system of submitting documents should provide it, at the same time eliminating opportunities for corruption schemes and mechanisms.

In addition to transparency, the service simplifies the work permit process for foreign professionals themselves. The possibility to apply and solve all the issues by the Internet eliminates the need to travel to Russia for several times during process documentation, as it was until now. Now a highly qualified specialist comes only once – to collect the prepared package of documents.

According to the deputy head of the department, Vladimir Yakovenko, the service is expected to be used by 30 thousand foreigners a year.
