El tour de paquete electrónico será obligatorio para los operadores turísticos

According to the head of Russiatourism Oleg Safonov, the electronic package tour will become mandatory for participants of the tourism market. During his speech at the Second All-Russian Congress of Tour Operators held in Sochi, the head of Russiatourism announced that the system of electronic package tour will be introduced starting from January 1, 2018.

“Starting from 2018, one more innovation aimed at increasing the transparency of the market and protecting the tourists’ rights will appear in the industry – the system of electronic package tour is expected to be introduced. I want to thank tour operators for their participation in the development of the system, we encourage everyone to get involved in this work,” he said.

According to Oleg Safonov, the use of electronic package tour will become mandatory for participants of the market.

He recalled that the concept of the electronic package tour had already been introduced into the legislation, and only the date of its mandatory use should be prescribed. Electronic package tour is an information system into which tour operators will enter data on booking and paying for a tourist product. For each tour, a document with the unique number – the electronic package tour – will be formed in the system. Tourists will be able to use the number of the package tour to track the status of their tour online.

As it is emphasized, the electronic package tour guarantees that tour operators will fulfill their commitments towards the clients.

It should be recalled that electronic package tour for tourist products will become mandatory in the near future but a preparatory period will be provided for market participants first.
