Der Leiter der Föderalen Agentur für Tourismus bietet kulinarische Tourismus in Russland zu entwickeln
The Federal Agency for Tourism made a proposal to create a “gastronomic map of Russia” in order to develop the culinary tourism and help foreign tourists to get acquainted with culture and peculiarities of Russia. The regions of the country are expected to participate in this project.
According to the head of the Federal Agency for Tourism Oleg Safonov, there are many dishes in Russia that are little known abroad – okroshka, solyanka, pickled cucumbers, pickled cabbage, spice cakes, pancakes. “Other people do not know these dishes. We should share this wealth and feed people”, – said Mr. Safonov.
“Everywhere wherever you come, you can see the same European cuisine, but we want the people to know and understand our origins and peculiarities which built our country and its culture”, – said O. Safonov.
As noted, recently, tourists are increasingly focused on exploring the national gastronomic traditions. They prefer farm products and organic food. Therefore, culinary tourism is today one of the most popular and promising directions of the tourism industry.
