Spain supports the idea of the entering of Russia in the zone of the visa-free regime with the countries of the European Union, – has informed the ambassador of Spain in Russia Juan Antonio Mark in the interview to the agency “Interfax”.

The visa-free regime definitely will benefit both the tourist branch of Russia, and of Europe. As experts mark, the stream of tourists in Russia has essentially increased in the first quarter of 2010 because of the cancellation or the simplification of a visa regime with some non-European countries. In particular, the interest for the tours in Russia of Israel citizens has grown almost twice. There are all the reasons to believe that the cancellation of visas between the Russian Federation and the countries of Europe will have the same effect.

The visa regime is perceived as the obstacle for the optimum cooperation and the development not only in Russia. In particular, German chancellor Angela Merkel has in turn underlined the necessity of the cancellation of visas as it will considerably facilitate the possibility of the contacts between the experts of two countries.

During the visit in last week of Dmitry Medvedev to Finland, the president of Finland Tarja Halonen also has promised to assist in the transition to a visa-free regime with the European Union countries.

The only thing that she has underlined during the negotiations with Dmitry Medvedev, this transition will take place not at once but by the gradual simplification and the acceleration of the bureaucratic procedure. However, as president Halonen has noticed, this transition promises to be “not simple”.
