Ausländer wird der Tourismus in Russland entwickeln
The Ministry of Labour is planning to expand the list of specialists who can enter Russia without migrant quotas. Such professions as guides-interpreters, directors of hotels and holiday camps, chefs, etc. will be added to this list. The draft of the appropriate order has already been prepared in the department. Experts believe that foreign specialists in the field of tourism will be useful during the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
It should be noted that at the moment the list of foreign specialists who can work without quota consists of 69 professions (including artists, directors of factories and companies, engineers, directors, etc.).
It is expected that 12 more professions will be also included in this list: tourism instructor-methodologist, director of the hotel, director of the holiday camp, guide-interpreter, manager of the catering and hotel business, interpreter, translator of technical literature, chef and tour guide, head waiter, organizer of trips (excursions), head of the section, studio or tour group.
Vice-president of the Russian Union of Travel Industry Yuri Barzykin believes that additional guides and interpreters translating from Chinese, Arabic and other rare languages may be required in city-participants of the 2018 World Cup.
“It is, of course, not about Moscow and St. Petersburg where there is enough of such specialists, but about such cities-participants of the 2018 World Cup as Saransk or Rostov-on-Don”, – said Y. Barzykin.
President of the Federation of Restaurateurs and Hoteliers Igor Bukharov suggested that Russian specialists will work better knowing that their position may be occupied by a foreigner.
“The problem is that we do not train professional chefs in Russia: we really are short of highly qualified specialists,” – said I. Bukharov.
At the same, Mr. Bukharov doubted that foreign specialists would change their place of work as not many employers are able to offer them a big salary, due to the depreciation of the ruble.
