Up to October 20, the Ministry of Culture of Russia will prepare and will bring the bill on the abolition of visas for participants and members of the jury in main international competitions and festivals, – said the first deputy minister of culture of Russia Vladimir Aristarkhov. In particular, the innovation will affect the upcoming International Tchaikovsky Competition.
In May, the bill was passed by the Duma, but it canceled only the visa regime for one specific competition without changing the regular rules of the entrance of the participants to Russia. The first experience of visa’s abolition for musicians was positive, and the Ministry of Culture drafted the bill appointing the visa-free entry for the participants of the competition on a regular basis.
The date of submission of the bill will be October 20. It is important to vote and to pass the law this year.
Speaking about the tight schedule of work, Deputy Prime Minister Olga Golodets said: “We have already passed all this process. What we could lose on this topic, we have already lost. As far as concern the discussion, in terms of procedures, it is possible to complete in this frame. Let's follow this frame” – cites an official agency “Russia Today”.
