Mehr als 500 elektronische Visa im Hafen von Wladiwostok ausgestellt

As reported the press service of the Ministry for Development of the Far East of Russia, more than 500 electronic visas to Russia have already been issued to citizens of 13 countries according to the new simplified visa regime introduced in the Freeport of Vladivostok some weeks ago.

“China and Japan are the leaders. The largest number of applications comes from the People's Republic of China which citizens have received 221 visas. The second place is taken by Japan where electronic visas have been approved for 147 citizens. The third place is taken by Morocco with 72 issued visas. Residents of Algeria applying for visas have become more numerous, 48 visas were approved for them,” said Pavel Volkov, the deputy head of the Ministry for Development of the Far East of Russia.

The simplified visa regime allows foreign citizens to get electronic single-entry business, tourist or humanitarian visas. 46 people (citizens of Japan, China and Saudi Arabia) have already used such visas to enter the Russian Far East.

Since January 1, 2018, it is planned to make electronic visas available on the territories of Kamchatka and the Sakhalin region. For this purpose, 11 checkpoints will be prepared and opened. Currently, it is possible to arrive in Vladivostok on e-visa through one of the two border crossing points – the sea checkpoint and Knevichi International Airport. Next year, it is planned to open several sea, railway and automobile checkpoints.
