An agreement on visa-free travel for the thirty-day period entered into force between Russia and Mongolia. Herewith, the total period of stay in the partner country should not exceed three months within 180 days. If it is necessary to prolong the stay or if its purpose is commercial activity, the need to issue a commercial visa persists.

«It is not a question of the complete abolition of the visa regime, but this simplification is quite significant and it greatly facilitates the ability to travel for the citizens who intend to maintain business, economic, cultural and family relations», – said the adviser of the Russian Embassy in Mongolia Vladimir Goryachev.

From this point on, it will be necessary to have a passport for the border crossing and if the traveler enters the country by his own car, he will be obliged to have a complete set of documents for it.

While commenting on the innovation, Russian Presidential Adviser Yury Ushakov noted that the agreement «will further intensify the development of mutually beneficial business, cultural and tourist ties» between the countries.

«The first working day in the new regime at border posts passed without incidents and agiotage» – reports the IA REGNUM. However, experts note that the flow of tourists is likely to grow during Christmas holidays and in spring.
