Fluggäste können in Russland ohne Visum 72 Stunden blieben
Russian government commission on legislative activities endorsed the idea of the next reduction of visa State barriers.
Thus, according to the new law, passengers traveling through the country by transit flights can stay for up to 72 hours without a visa.
After the governmental consideration the law will go to the State Duma for approval, and then the new rules will come into force.
“The draft law stipulates that foreign tourists arriving in Russia from foreign countries as transit on aircrafts through the airports open to international passenger services may stay in Russia for 72 hours without a visa,” – quotes the media the message on the site of the Ministers Office.
Upon recommendation of the ideologues of the new law it will help to attract additional number of foreign tourists to the Russian cities. That in turn will lead to increase the revenue in the service industries from 13.1 billion to 19.7 billion per year and from 3.6 billion to 5.4 billion rubles in the hotel industry.
The list of airports where tourists can stay as transit is not yet approved. According to the creators of the law, the number of tourists is expected to increase by 20%–30% per year.
