Museumstickets für Ausländer werden zum gleichen Preis wie für russische Staatsbürger

Coordinating Council of Tourism at the Moscow city government has decided to even the cost of museum tickets for Russians and foreigners.

Today the museum ticket price for foreigners is much higher than for the Russian citizens. For example, the ticket price of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts is 300 rubles for Russian citizen and 400 rubles for a foreigner.

“We plan to cancel this rate. We want to make a single ticket price”, – said the head of the City Department of Culture Sergei Kapkov, informs the agency “RIA Novosti”.

The Head of Committee of Tourism and Hospitality of Moscow Sergei Shpilko considered this idea as an appropriate: “The initiative to even the ticket prices for foreigners and Russians sensational. You have no idea how long the market was waiting for this!”

Another problem to be solved by the Coordinating Committee is working hours of capital museums. There is a plan to extend the museum opening hours till 21:00.

During the winter holidays, the museums entrance will be free for all categories of visitors, and in 2012 it is planned to organize a free admission day every month in all museum.
