Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law easing restrictions on tourists coming to Russia. It allows staying in Russia for up to six months if foreign tourists have hotel bookings.
Federal law simplifies the procedure for issuing tourist visas for foreign tourists. On Wednesday, document was published on the portal of legal information. According to this document, a foreigner can get an ordinary tourist visa for up six months providing booking confirmation for a hotel or other accommodation facility, information about which is contained in the unified federal register of tour operators.
Currently, an ordinary tourist visa is issued for a period of up to one month or on the basis of the principle of reciprocity for six months upon confirmation of acceptance by an organization, information about which is contained in the unified federal register of tour operators.
This law comes into force after 90 days from the date of its official publication.
