Das Verfahren der Zulassung von Kraftfahrzeugen in Russland wird für Ausländer vereinfacht werden

From January 1, 2013, in Russia and the countries of the Customs Union the new simplified rules of carriage and registrations of vehicles owned by foreigner and imported for personal use will be applied. Now, crossing the border on the car registered in another country, a foreigner will need to fill in only one declaration. The driver is now not obligated to declare the export of the same vehicle from Russian territories – it will be enough to show the filled declaration at the customs.

The appropriate changes are made to the “Instruction on customs operations in respect of goods for personal use, transported by individuals through the customs border, and a reflection of the fact of recognition of such goods are not subject to customs control.”

“When leaving, the citizens will be able to present the passenger customs declaration with vehicle data, which they filled in at the entry into the customs territory of the Customs Union”, – quotes the RBK site the message of the Federal Customs Service.

The innovation will make the travel for foreign drivers in Russia much easier, – is expected in the department. Also, it will reduce queues at borders and pendency time of private vehicles in access points.

Under Russian law, it is allowed to import in Russia free of duty a personal vehicle for up to six months for private purposes with no right to pass it to the third parties.
