Ausländische Arbeitskräfte werden auf der Kenntnis der russischen Sprache getestet werden
Last week in St. Petersburg the first office for the system electronic testing of foreign workers on the knowledge of Russian language was opened, – explains the agency “Interfax”.
The office was established on the basis of the single document center and the Federal Migration Service of St. Petersburg participated in its implementation. As Konstantin Romodanovsky the head of the office of the Russian Federal Migration Service noted during his visit: “By the end of the year the law on mandatory testing for knowledge of Russian language for migrant workers will be implemented, this is especially for employees in public utilities and public service. It is important that the Russian language is the working language, it will create a competitive labor force.”
Up to the hundred people will be able to take the test in the computer lab per day.
The completed test is an indispensable condition for a foreigner to receive the right to work in Russia. As later it was stated by Romodanovsky at a meeting with the Director of the World Bank in Russia Michal Rutkowski: “If the exam is not passed, the foreign citizen does not receive the work permit. If the term of his legal stay in Russia is not exceeded, he can take the exam again.”
