Jeder zehnte Russische Bürger nahm an der „Nacht der Museen“

From 19 to 20 May in Russia the one of the biggest cultural events of the year was held – the “Night of Museums”. Every tenth citizen took part, only in Moscow during the night about 750,000 people visited the museums.

This year's for the first time not only museums but exhibitions and theaters were attended. On the night May 19 till 20, 16 Moscow theaters opened its doors to visitors, in particular, Vakhtangov Theater and Theater of Satire. At this time the audience was not invited to a regular show. The visitors were able to visit the parts, which are closed on ordinary days, going on a tour of the world behind the scenes.

According to media reports, one of the longest queues in Moscow was in the Historical Museum. Though the entrance was not free, but costed a half of the usual price. As noted by the Deputy Director Irina Alekseeva: “The Museum Night” is an exclusive night of course. And our program is exclusive for this day. It's called “Music through the Ages”. In almost every room of the museum a musical ensemble or musical group play historical music or on the historical musical instruments,”– quotes BFM.ru.

Exhibition Center for Contemporary Art “Winzavod” offered to the nightly visitors more than 20 art projects simultaneously, including interactive options.

“More than ever on the “Night of Museums” we want to make the art closer to the people, so we came up with many interactive projects. You can go to the wall and write a few words about what you would like to do in life, before you go away. For example before I die, I want to find happiness,” – the “Evening Moscow” quotes the words of Elena Panteleyev, Director of the Center Foundation.

The Darwin museum celebrated the unusual night by the roof exhibition “The Original Fake”. This project was devoted to the most unusual imitations in nature, art or life.

All in all, the action involved more than 180 sites from the Tretyakov Gallery and the Multimedia Art Museum to the estates Khamovniki, Tsaritsino, Lefortovo and others.

In order to optimize the transport routes four additional bus routes were introduced, one of which cruised along the Sadovoe Koltso.
