Einreiseverbot für chinesische Staatsbürger Russland

Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin signed an order to temporarily suspend entry of Chinese citizens into Russian territory. This decision applies to all citizens coming from China: tourists, students, entrepreneurs who wish to visit Russia on private visit or work in the country.

It must be emphasized that since 19 February the Russian government has stopped issuing documents for the entry of Chinese citizens into the Russian Federation and has also suspended receipt of documents for visas, issuing invitations to enter and issuing work permits.

“The restriction will not affect transit passengers”, the government said.

Starting 20 February, territorial border of the Russian Federation will be closed to Chinese citizens visiting the country for tourism, business, private and educational purposes. This decision was made in order to ensure security of the country, as well as to protect public health. Such tough measures are associated with a worsening epidemiological situation in China.

More than 72 thousand people were infected with coronavirus in China, of which 12.5 thousand were able to recover, 1868 people died according to the public health data of China.

The Russian government confirmed the information about the readiness of the Russian regions to combat epidemic of coronavirus.

According to statistics, Russia was visited by 2.3 million Chinese citizens, of which 1.5 million entered for tourism purposes and 321 thousand visited the country for business purposes.

It must be emphasized that as soon as the authorities of China cope with the epidemic, the ban on Chinese citizens entering Russia will be lifted.
