Cambios en la legislación migratoria de Rusia en 2023

Foreign citizens began to pay for patent for work starting January 1 at a new rate. Notification forms for migration registration of foreigners have been updated; an item with data on fingerprinting has been added.

Foreigner can register on portal Gosuslugi. To do this, they need to present passport of the host party with “propiska”, a registration address, if it does not match address of residence of the host party, passport of foreign citizen and migration card.

Also from January 1, 2023, foreign citizens – full-time students will be able to obtain temporary residence permit in Russia for the period of study without a quota.

It will allow foreign students to acquire the status of foreign citizens temporarily residing in the Russian Federation for the duration of their studies. After receiving a diploma of higher education within 3 years foreigner with temporary residence permit will be able to apply for residence permit in Russia.

Foreigners temporarily staying in Russia, with the exception of HQSs, have received the right to medical care under the CHI. Employers must pay insurance premiums for them for at least 3 years.

Foreigners can no longer be suspended from work or fired in the event of the expiration of the VHI or contract for medical services.
