Visa to be abolished for foreign fans of the 2018 FIFA World Cup

It is planned that visas for foreign fans of the 2018 FIFA World Cup will be abolished in Russia. The Russian President Vladimir Putin has delegated the Government to draft the corresponding bill.

As stated the assignment given to the Government of the Russian Federation, it will be possible to enter Russia without a visa ten days before the first match and until the day of the final inclusive. The entry will be carried out on the basis of identity documents and a personified card of a fan issued both in paper and electronic form. It is necessary to emphasize that football fans will be able to get the card only after purchasing tickets and filling in the appropriate application form. The card issuance will be absolutely free. In addition, it will give the right to free movement between the cities in which the 2018 World Cup matches will be held.

It is also stressed that during the championship media representatives will be free to use additional trains to move between host cities.

It must be recalled that the World Cup will take place in Russia in summer 2018.
