Russia will not issue e-visas
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation will not issue e-visas to foreigners due to actions of European countries.
The director of consular department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Ivan Volynkin said that Russia had introduced retaliatory measures against unfriendly actions of European countries, which terminated agreements on facilitation of travel for citizens and tightened issuance of visas to Russians.
The representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced reduction of trips of foreigners to Russia in the first four months of 2022. Volynkin revealed reason for obstacle – the high cost of transportation and transport logistics.
In conclusion, he stressed that even with launch of e-visa; the number of trips of foreigners to country would hardly have increased.
The Russian authorities will monitor development of international situation without opening an Internet portal for issuing unified e-visas.
