Putin named condition for opening borders of Russia
Russian President Vladimir Putin noted the need to open borders with other countries and stressed that it should not trigger a new coronavirus outbreak.
During a meeting with the government on August 26, Vladimir Putin announced the need to open borders with other countries. Putin also added that it is impossible to keep people locked away. The meeting was broadcast by Russia-24 TV channel. Golikova stressed that the number of coronavirus infections in Russia is gradually decreasing.
Issue about opening of air traffic was discussed by President of the Russian Federation with other leaders of foreign states.
Nearly all heads of states announced the temporary closure of air bridges to limit the spread of COVID-19 when WHO (World Health Organization) announced a global coronavirus pandemic.
Russia resumed flights on August 1 with three countries: Great Britain, Turkey, Tanzania. Switzerland was included in the list on 15 August.
