Fan ID
What is a FAN ID and why is it needed
In order to attend any of the 2018 FIFA World Cup™ matches in Russia, a personalized card of the viewer, so-called FAN ID, will be required in addition to the ticket. This card is issued to a particular viewer and is mandatory for all the spectators including children and Russian citizens. A FAN ID provides its foreign holders with a visa-free entry into the Russian Federation and free travel on the matches days in the host cities.
A FAN ID is issued once and allows visiting all the 2018 FIFA World Cup™ matches for which the spectators has a ticket.
How to get a FAN ID
There are two ways to apply for a FAN ID: submit an online application on the official website www.fan-id.ru and in person at any FAN ID Distribution center. Foreign citizens can get their FAN ID at one of the VFS Global Visa Application Centers (vfsglobal.com/fan-id).
To apply, you will need a ticket or order number if there are several tickets in it. This number you can use several times depending on the number of tickets purchased.
To submit an application for a FAN ID, the following data are required:
- spectator’s family name, given name, patronymic (second name or names);
- date of birth;
- sex;
- details of the identity document (document’s type, series, number, etc.). Note that the document used to apply for a FAN ID may not coincide with the document that was used for ticket purchasing;
- nationality;
- mobile phone number;
- e-mail address;
- mail address for FAN ID delivery (for foreigners and stateless persons).
A color photo with a full-face image should be attached to the application. The photo should have been taken no more than six months prior to the application date. The photo must be in the .jpg or .jpeg format with a maximum file size of one (1) megabyte with a minimum width of 420 pixels and a minimum height of 525 pixels. The individual must be in focus and in a forward facing position with eyes open, the face should be evenly illuminated, the background must be plain white. See more photo requirements (“Questions and answers”, “Application questions”).
After submitting the application you will receive sms or e-mail confirmation that your application is under consideration. Your application will be reviewed within 72 hours.
After that you will get the notification that your application for FAN ID issue is approved.
If you need to register again and change the filled in form, you should wait for a notification on the application approval and register again. This applies only to corrections of the surname, name or date of birth. Other information can be corrected only at Distribution centers when receiving your issued FAN ID.
A FAN ID can be issued at any Distribution center: they will open in all host cities of the World Cup.
Registration at the Distribution center will take some minutes: you will be photographed, the manager will check your identity document and the ticket number (or order form). You must present the original of your passport or other identity document (the original of a birth certificate for children under 14 years), a ticket for a match or the document which entitles you to get a match ticket.
