Visa-free entry to Russia for UEFA Euro 2020 fans
As reported by the Interfax news agency, a bill on the simplification of the visa regime for foreign fans of the 2020 UEFA European Football Championship has been submitted to the government recently.
According to the bill, viewers of the European Championship will be able to enter Russia on their valid identity documents without additional visa processing. The entry of UEFA volunteers will be carried out on the basis of ordinary humanitarian visas. In addition, it is planned to introduce an accelerated and simplified procedure for issuing permits to attract and use foreign workers, invitations to enter the Russian Federation, work permits and patents to foreign citizens and stateless persons involved in UEFA activities by the Russian Football Union and the local organizational structure.
The bill provides the viewers of the Championship with the right to free travel within St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region, and the Russian government with the authority to regulate the cost of hotel services due to the upcoming championship.
UEFA Euro 2020 will be held in 12 cities in 12 European countries. In Russia, matches will be held in St. Petersburg.
