According to the State Secretary of Germany’s Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth Dr. Ralf Kleindiek, Russia and Germany are discussing the issue of simplification of the visa regime for young people.
“We are talking about specific practical issues such as how to facilitate the issuing of visas to youth or release groups of young people coming from Russia from visas getting”, – said Dr. Ralf Kleindiek.
Dr. Kleindiek stated that the primary objective of the two countries is to create the right conditions to involve more people in youth exchanges.
Issues of the simplification of the visa regime for youth and the complete abolition of visas for groups of young people can be mentioned among the most discussed.
“Youth exchange is particularly important when things are not going very well on the political level”, – said Dr. Kleindiek.
In his turn, the deputy head of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia Veniamin Kaganov noted that the year of youth exchanges will bring additional opportunities for establishing new contacts not only among students but also young teachers and scientists.
“It is extremely important to activate the travel youth exchange”, – said V. Kaganov.
He also added that the Russian side is ready to be responsible for all costs related to the stay of young people from Germany in Russia.
