The new law will facilitate to foreign specialists the entry in Russia
Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, the 20th of March 2011 signed a law “On Amending the Federal Law “On Migration Registration of Foreign Citizens and Stateless Persons in the Russian Federation” and some legislative acts of the Russian Federation”.
The law simplifies the entry of highly qualified foreign specialists and their families, reports the Kremlin press service.
Now the foreigners coming to Russia will get multiple entry visas for the duration of the employment contract. Family members of such employer will also be able to get working visas, which are equal in duration.
Also the changes in the law relate to the possibility of registration of foreign specialists at the place of residence. So a foreigner in Russia can be registered not only at private address but also in any other institutions or organizations related to him. Also a foreigner owning property in Russia could become the receiving person for his family.
Adopted law was another step in the process of creating an attractive image of Russia as a developing country that is convenient for work, career and business.
In December 2010 another law was signed, which provides for the possibility of issuing invitations to foreign specialists on the application of branches of foreign companies registered in Russia.
