Terms of stay of foreigners in Russia to extend until next summer

The Deputy Head of the Department for Migration Issues Kirill Adzinov said that work is underway to extend periods of stay of foreign citizens and stateless persons in Russia until the summer of 2021.

According to him the administration and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia are working on further prolongation of these measures, which will be extended until next summer.

K. Adzinov stressed that foreigners in Russia will carry out labor activities. People who have not been able to return back home, who have been here for a long time, must get an opportunity to exist in any case.

Earlier it was known that Russian President V. Putin extended until December 15 the action taken to resolve the legal status of foreigners and stateless persons in Russia. Foreign citizens do not need to renew documents on temporary residence in Russia, terms of registration at the place of stay, terms of temporary and permanent residence (including renewal of a residence permit).

Earlier it was reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin extended until December 15 periods of temporary stay of foreigners and stateless persons in Russia. In accordance with this document, foreign citizens do not need to renew documents for temporary residence (including extension of visas) in Russia, terms of registration at place of stay, terms of temporary and permanent residence (including extension of residence permit). The President allowed foreign citizens to leave Russia for their countries of citizenship if their documents expired after March 14, 2020.
