Russiatourism proposes to simplify the visa regime with Spain

As reported the deputy head of Russiatourism Sergei Korneev during a conversation with journalists, the Federal Agency for Tourism of the Russian Federation favors the simplification of the visa regime between Spain and Russia.

The cross-year between Spain and Russia starts on April 5. A lot of joint events are planned for this period, including the consideration of issue on the simplification of the visa regime between Spain and Russia which will probably be positively resolved. In this regard, the deputy head of Russiatourism recalled the experience of the Russian Federation and Italy which Ministries of Foreign Affairs decided to reduce the visa processing time to three days during the cross-year period. “We hope that this experience will be used as it gave a very good result”, – Mr. Korneev stressed.

Sergei Korneev also reported about the project “National Calendar of Events” which helps the foreign tourists to choose the best holiday destination in Russia. It is planned that the “National Calendar of Events” will include more than two thousand events from various regions of Russia. According to the Federal Agency for Tourism, the creation of a catalog with information on the most significant and interesting events in Russia will help to attract tourists to different parts of the country.

According to Spanish and Russian representatives, the cross-year between Spain and Russia will help to increase both the number of Russian tourists coming to Spain and the number of Spanish nationals planning to rest in Russia.
