Russian visa center opens in Riga
May 23 in Riga, the Russian Visa Application Centre started its work in the test mode at the address: Brivibas Str. 83. The grand opening is scheduled for May 28. The Visa Application Center will perform administrative functions for receiving and processing of visa documents, helping with paperwork, advising citizens on visa issues, and charging the fees, which will be from 35 to 70 euros. However, the center will accomplish no other functions except administrative. This is the consular department of the Russian Embassy in Latvia that will accept the final decision regarding the issuance of visa or refusal. As noted on the visa center website: “The Russian visa center was created to better serve the citizens of Latvia and third countries wishing to obtain a visa to Russia. The main and most important in our work is to simplify and speed up procedures of issuing visas” – quoted by news agency REGNUM.
