Russian visa center opens in Portugal

Russian Visa Application Centre in Lisbon begins its work on 10 January 2013.

The Visa Center was created under the Russian President’s approved concept for a new approach to the execution of the regular visa documents in order to improve services for foreign nationals wishing to enter the Russian territory.

The Visa Center will take the technical functions of execution and reception of the documents, assistance in filling out forms, advice on Russian visa rules. The “one window” system will simplify and speed up the process of submitting visa documents. The final decision on granting a visa is made by the Russian Embassy in Portugal.

The application for a visa is made by appointment. The appointment can be made on the Center site or by phone listed on the website. A contract is signed with every customer that the center takes responsibility for maintaining confidentiality and security of the documents.

When submitting documents through the center, in addition to regular consular fee (35 euros for EU citizens, or 70 euros for urgent visa), the service charge of 25 euros is to be paid.

The Center will receive visitors from Monday to Friday from 9 am till 5 pm. The Russian management company Visa Handling Services will supervise the work of the Visa Venter.
