Russia will take part in two international tourist exhibitions

Two leading international tourist exhibitions will take place in March of this year. These are ITB – 2010 in Germany, and Russia International exhibition MITT.

ITB – 2010 opened in Berlin at Messe Berlin exhibition complex on March 10. There guests from 187 countries were gathered. This exhibition is considered one of the most representative, clearly reflecting the general processes that occur in the tourist industry. Exhibition organizers noted that this year, despite the general downturn in the industry caused by the crisis, the number of participants increased.

Stands of Russia retained their last year's volumes. Participants came from Moscow, St. – Petersburg, Kazan, Kaliningrad. In addition, the representatives of major Russian campaign, whose activities are connected with travel: “Intourist”, “Neva”, KMP Group, “Mosturflot”, “Vodohod” and many others, came to communicate with colleagues.

One of the main ideas of Russia's stand at the exhibition is the project “Three Capitals”, created by Moscow, St.-Petersburg and Kazan for the joint promotion of tourist cities in the external market.

MITT exhibition opens the March 17 in Moscow in Expocentre on Krasnaya Presnya. This year it will occupy almost the entire center: 8 rooms with total area of about 60 thousand square meters. It will gather representatives of tourist companies from nearly 160 countries.

Greece will be the country – partner in this exhibition. As General Director of ITE Alexander Shtalenkov told on the press conference to “Interfax” agency, the Greek stand will occupy the space in 1500 square meters.

“They come to MITT “to discover Russia”, therefore, participation in the spring exhibition at the Expocenter creates unlimited opportunities for tourism development in Russian regions”, – said Mr. Shtalenkov.

The main theme of MITT became “Medical Tourism”. In the special provided pavilion will be created the place for stands of clinics and health centers around the world. Including: Medical Center Rogaska from Slovenia, Medclassic from Germany, Premiamed Management GmbH from Austria and Genolier Swiss Medical Network from Switzerland – informs the website “Tourism in Russia”.

As part of this idea, the 1st Moscow Congress on medical and health tourism will take place on March 18. Participants will discuss opportunities of mutual cooperation and development problems of the tourist industry worldwide.

MITT and ITB are two of the five major world exhibitions in the field of tourism (along with the London WTM).

Participation in the exhibition of this scale, the proportion of specialists among the visitors of which is more than 74%, can seriously contributed to promote the tourist potential of Russia abroad.
