Russia to restore international passenger traffic with Belarus

The communication of passenger trains with Belarus, interrupted due to the spread of coronavirus, is resumed.

The authorities of the Russian Federation decided to resume the railway passenger traffic of the country with Belarus on February 8, 2021. We are talking about the train of the Federal Passenger Company (Russian Rain company, RZD) and the Belarusian Railways (Belarusian Railways).

The Russian Railways holding train will run every day. The Belarusian Railways train will run from Minsk on even days, from Moscow on odd days. It was also reported that the resumption of the running of other international trains between Russia and Belarus will be announced later.

Russian Railways Holding will disinfect passenger trains and ask passengers to wear masks and gloves throughout the journey. Passengers can purchase masks and gloves from the train crew.

The Russian Railways website reports that passengers who arrive from abroad in the Russian Federation by train must have a COVID-19 test certificate with a negative PCR test result, issued 72 hours before the start of the trip. The exceptions are children under 5 years of age (with a certificate from the accompanying persons), members of government delegations of a Member State upon returning to the country of citizenship, members of locomotive crews and persons associated with transportation activities in railway transport.
