Russia proposes to introduce “New Year visa” for foreign tourists

State Duma deputy Viktor Zubarev proposed introducing of special international visa for foreign citizens. The politician explains that foreigners should be able to come to Russia on New Year holidays with simplified scheme.

As deputy notes an express visa for seven days may become suitable format for this document. A letter with proposals for the development of domestic and incoming tourism in Russia was sent to the Minister of Economic Development Maxim Oreshkin.

Zubarev believes that Russian New Year traditions are an exotic for foreign travelers. In his opinion, “express visas” for 1 week with simplified procurement of visas to Russia under the name “Happy New Year in Russia” will heighten interest in Russia and spur tourist flow to our country.
