Russia lifts travel ban for Swiss citizens

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin lifted ban to enter to Russia for Swiss citizens August 1. This decree was published on the website of the Cabinet of Ministers on August 2.

In fact, Swiss citizens are allowed to enter Russia — the country is on list of exceptions in decree signed by government on March 16, 2020.

Switzerland's borders are still closed for Russian tourists. The Swiss Embassy in Russia said that citizens must present residence permit to enter European country. For foreigners arriving in Switzerland, ten-day quarantine is mandatory at place of residence.

Flights between Moscow and Geneva will resume on August 15 and will operate once a week on destination Moscow — Geneva — Moscow.

Earlier, Russia stopped regular and charter flights with other countries on March 27 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
