The Russia and Belarus have agreed to create a common visa space

According to the Speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko, Russia and the Republic of Belarus will sign and ratify the agreement on mutual recognition of visas for third-country nationals by the end of this year.

β€œThe document has been prepared and practically agreed. I think we will sign and ratify it by the end of the year,” β€” said Matviyenko.

It should be reminded that a plenary session of the Russian and Belarusian Forum of Regions was held in St. Petersburg on July 18. Representatives of the authorities and business spoke about the prospects of the Union State.

As noted, over the years of integration, trade turnover between Russia and Belarus has increased six times. Last year it amounted to 35.5 billion dollars. Large investment projects are being realized.

Besides, by the end of the year the authorities of the Russian Federation and Belarus will decide to cancel roaming between the countries. However, according to Mikhail Myasnikovich, Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the Parliament of Belarus, the abolition of roaming would not mean the abolition of telephone charges.

During the forum of regions of the Russian Federation and Belarus, President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that the countries had agreed on a number of issues related to the development of integration processes in the Union State.

It is necessary to note that the intergovernmental agreement on mutual recognition of visas for third-country nationals provides that foreigners with Belarusian visas will be able to enter freely Russia and vice versa.
