Possible introduction of the resort fee only for foreign tourists
As stated the head of the State Duma Tourism subcommittee Sergei Krivonosov during a meeting of the dedicated committee, a resort fee can be first introduced in Russia only for foreign tourists.
It should be recalled that the bill on the resort fee provides for the experimental introduction of fees for using the resort infrastructure in the Crimea, Altai, Krasnodar and Stavropol Krai from January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2022. It is assumed that the fee will not exceed 100 rubles per day, and the incomings will be used to develop the resort infrastructure.
At the same time, tour operators argue against the collection of resort fee as the introduction of additional fees can reduce the flow of foreign tourists to the country.
According to the head of the State Duma Tourism subcommittee Sergei Krivonosov, the main disadvantage of this initiative is that the introduction of a resort fee will result in rising costs of tourist product. In addition, Sergei Krivonosov considers necessary to hold parliamentary hearings or roundtable in one of the regions participating in this experiment in order to listen to the opinions of different experts and accept the relevant amendments to the bill.
