
Recognition of visas and abolition of roaming between Russia and Belarus
During conference in Moscow, Secretary of State of the Union State of Russia and Belarus Grigoriy Rapota said that an agreement on the mutual recognition of visas between two states was ready; decision of the heads of state is expected.
“An agreement on mutual recognition of visas is already ready. It remains to put some final points at the level of heads of state. So we are waiting for this moment”, he said.
Draft agreement will allow foreign citizens with a Belarusian visa to enter Russia and foreigners with a Russian visa will be able to visit Belarus.
This agreement on mutual recognition of visas was to be signed in December 2018. According to the ambassador of Belarus in the Russian Federation Vladimir Semashko, Russia and Belarus will probably sign this document before the end of the year.
Cancellation of roaming in the territories of both states is also touched upon.
According to Secretary of State Grigoriy Rapota, when considering the issue of roaming cancellation between two countries, it will be necessary to take into account interests of both operators and users.
“We understand that this should be done. The ministries of communications among themselves are working on this quite tightly. Now issue is about interests of operators, economic interests”, he said.
