Possible visa-free entry to Kaliningrad for foreigners
According to media sources, the possible simplification of the visa regime for foreign citizens arriving in Kaliningrad has been discussed during the meeting on the Russian North-West transport infrastructure development.
Following the meeting, the Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the government to consider the possibility of introducing a system of electronic visas or a visa-free entry for up to 72 hours available for organized groups of foreign nationals arriving in Russia through the Kaliningrad airport or the Kaliningrad region ports as well as transiting through the territory of the country to participate in cruises. In addition, the possible simplification of the visa regime should be considered for foreign crew members and passengers of sport sailing and pleasure crafts.
