Museum Multi-Pass to be introduced in Russia

Currently, the issue of introducing the Museum Multi-Pass has been proposed for consideration to the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation. It is assumed that this card will allow free visits to museums as well as provide foreign guests with the right to visa-free entry into the country in a manner similar to FAN ID.

The Museum Multi-Pass card will be similar to its European equivalent according to which a tourist arriving in the city receives a universal card that allows visiting all museums for free.

According to the experts, the Moscow government approves the idea of introducing such a pass and is ready to oblige federal, municipal and private museums to participate in the experiment on the introduction of this universal document. The possibility of launching this system is currently being worked out with all interested structures including Mosgortrud and the leading federal museums such as the Tretyakov Gallery, Pushkin and Historical Museums. At this stage, it is necessary to reconcile the issue with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and determine the amount of the state fee and the conditions for the system to operate in the electronic visa regime.
