Moscow is on the third place in the list of the most expensive cities in the world

According to the annual rating published last week consulting company Mercer Human Resource Consulting, Moscow is on the third place in the list of the world most expensive cities for the foreigners. It was studied from March 2008 till March 2009 and the price of 200 products and services of 143 cities of the world were taken in account. The rent price of habitation, the price of transport, social services, clothes and entertainments were also taken in consideration. Rating of the company includes nearly all necessary for the foreigner in Russia – up to morning cup of coffee and newspaper.

This rating, first of all, is necessary for the foreign companies that must rational distribute financial and human resources in the countries. The information must be also interesting for the tourists.

Three last years Moscow was on the first place in the rating. This year the crisis changed the situation and the fall of the ruble-to-dollar rate. In the rating of Mercer Human Resource Consulting dollar is the universal currency in all the countries, and the city-standard New York.

Because of the crisis index mark of Moscow makes up 115.4 points, one year before it was 142.4 points.

The second place of the rating is for Japanese city Osaka. The forth place took Geneva and the fifth – Gong Kong. The cheapest city in the world is Johannesburg (South Africa), that moved aside the capital of Paraguay Asuncion that was standing at the end of the rating last 6 years.

Leader of the rating this year was Tokyo, its rating is 143.7 points.
