Foreign participants of the Battle of Borodino reconstruction will receive help with visas

Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its willingness to help foreigners who come to Russia for the Battle of Borodino reconstruction. Thus, the MFA responded on the information published by several media about the difficulties experienced by members of the Western historical clubs with the applications for the Russian visas.

As noted by the representatives of the MFA, upon request of the foreign citizens or Russian coordinators of the great battle reconstruction, the Ministry will render the necessary assistance, including visa support, – said the agency “Interfax”.

We already know the approximate date when the holiday will be held in honor of the 200th anniversary of the Borodino Battle, it is September, 2. According to historical chronicles the scenario of the battle will be recreated: the battles will last for two hours, and the battle for the hill of Rajewski will become final.

However, at this time the coordinators of the holiday have the problem. July 25, the member of the Presidium of the Public Council for the Promotion of the State Commission for Celebration of Russia's victory in the war of 1812, Mikhail Lermontov, reported a lack of financing activities.

“The Ministry of Culture has announced a competition to ensure the celebration on the Borodino field of less than 17 million rubles, while in the organization of the holiday needs at least 30 million rubles”, – said Lermontov.

Commenting on these data, the Minister of Culture of Russia Andrei Busygin explained that two contests were announced in order to maximize fund activities to celebrate the anniversary of the battle. He also promised to promptly resolve all issues on the organization of the holiday.
