Foreigners to get tourist visa up to 6 months

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia is developing project issuing of tourist visas for foreign citizens for period of 6 months. At the moment such visa is issued for only one month.

It will be easier for foreigners to get tourist visa to Russia. It is assumed that the introduction of tourist visas for six months will contribute to growth of tourist flow and development of tourism business in the Russian Federation.

It is planned to simplify obtaining of tourist visas by foreigners. Visas can be issued on the basis of confirmation of reservation of accommodation.

As noted, now issuance of such visa is possible if there is confirmation from the organization, information about which is contained in the Unified Federal Register of Tour Operators.

“Another novelty is an increase to six months of period of stay of foreign citizens in the Russian Federation with tourist visa. Currently, such visa is issued for period of up to one month”, they said in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

It must be emphasized that introduction of tourist visas for six months will contribute to increase in foreign tourist flow in the Russian Federation. As it became known, Crimea is already preparing to increase tourist flow. Income of the Republic of Crimea due to attracting tourists amounted to 3.2 billion rubles.
