Foreigners can extend their stay in Russia until June 15, 2021

Russian President Vladimir Putin has extended until June 15, 2021 measures taken due to the pandemic to resolve the legal status of foreigners and stateless persons in Russia. Decree was published on official Internet portal of legal information on December 17.

In accordance with this document, foreigners do not need to renew documents for temporary residence, extension of visas, periods of temporary and permanent residence, including the extension of a residence permit.

The deadlines for the voluntary departure from Russia of foreigners and stateless persons, in respect of whom a decision was made to administratively expel from the country, are also frozen.

Decree comes into force on the day of its signing.

Earlier Vladimir Putin extended until December 15 measures regarding the situation of foreigners and stateless persons who are on the territory of the Russian Federation.
