
Citizens of 53 countries will be able to visit Kaliningrad with e-visas
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia has published list of countries whose citizens will be able to visit Kaliningrad region with e-visas.
List includes 53 countries: Austria, Andorra, Bahrain, Belgium, Bulgaria, Vatican, Hungary, Germany, Greece, Denmark, India, Indonesia, Iran, Ireland, Iceland, Spain, Italy, Qatar, Cyprus, China (including Taiwan), DPRK, Kuwait, Latvia, Lithuania, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Oman, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Saudi Arabia, Northern Macedonia, Serbia, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey, Philippines, Finland, France, Croatia, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Sweden, Estonia, Japan.
It should be noted that application of e-visa to Russia will come into force on July 1, 2019.
As stressed, this list is twice as wide as list of the Far East, in which only 18 countries were at one time: Algeria, Bahrain, Brunei, India, Iran, Qatar, China, North Korea, Kuwait, Morocco, Mexico, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Tunisia, Turkey and Japan.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, e-visa is issued free of charge within four calendar days, regardless of weekends and holidays. To apply e-visa no invitations are required – foreigner needs to fill out only application on website of the consular department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, attaching digital photo as electronic file.
The document will be valid for 30 days and will allow staying in the Kaliningrad region not more than eight days. It will be possible to enter with the visa once.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, electronic visas will be issued to foreigners who wish to visit the country for tourist, commercial, humanitarian or cultural purposes.
