CIS citizens may be obliged to receive invitations
The head of Russian Federal Migration Service Konstantin Romodanovskiy proposed to consolidate for the invitation the status of a mandatory document to enter Russia by the CIS citizens, – informs the newspaper “Kommersant”. The invitation must become an alternative solution for the introduction of a visa regime that the department considered ineffective.
“To date, this is not the actual variant. The question is not about the entrance into the Russian Federation, but more a question about our laws, our rules... The option of entry by invitations can be viewed with the countries of primary outcome of migrants in Russia, but here you need extra work, it's not an easy question. We will think on this subject,” – said Romodanovskiy.
In addition to invitations that might be introduced from January 1, 2015 in Russia a law will come into force that would oblige the CIS citizens to travel to Russia with foreign passports. This idea of the department was approved last month by Russian president Vladimir Putin.
To combat violations of Russian migration legislation, he FMS takes the large-scale “operational and preventive measures”. Also in the capital's railway stations and bus stations the immigration posts will be set, but the exact date of implementation of this program Romodanovskiy did not mention in his speech.
