Los extranjeros estarán obligados a pagar impuestos sobre la importación de vehículos adicionales a Rusia
The Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev signed a decree obliging foreign nationals to pay customs duties on importation into the country of the second and subsequent vehicles registered abroad and needed for personal use – reports the Russian News Agency TASS.
“The document aims to ensure the payment of customs duties and taxes associated with the repeated importation of vehicles in the Russian Federation realized by foreign nationals” – is reported on the official website of the Russian government.
The necessity of such document is caused by the fact that under the current rules foreigners have the rights to import private vehicles into the territory of the Russian Federation for a term of a year without any taxes and restrictions on their number. However, in 2013 and early 2014 Russian customs services revealed 134 cases of customs duties and taxes’ non-payment associated with the repeated import of vehicles into the country. The total amount of non-payment came to 72.3 million rubles.
At the same time, tax remissions retain on the first import of personal vehicle realized by foreign citizen on the territory of Russia.
