From May 1 the tentative collection of the resort fee began in the resort towns of Stavropol and Altai. As noted, the funds raised will be used to develop the infrastructure. The charge will be collected from adults staying in hotels for more than 24 hours. According to the law, the amount charged cannot exceed 100 rubles. In 2018, it is limited to 50 rubles.

It should be noted that the Crimea and the Krasnodar Krai have postponed the introduction of the resort fee. In Kuban, the resort fee will be charged from July 16, 2018, after the 2018 FIFA World Cup. “If you look at the statistics, you can see that the number of tourists in the resort areas in Russia is several times greater than the number of residents. The resort infrastructure is deteriorating and the municipalities do not have enough money to restore it. Due to the introduction of the resort fee we will get the required financial resource not only to restore the existing infrastructure but also to create a new one that will help to attract tourists,” said the head of the Altai Krai Administration for External Relations, Tourism and Resort Yuri Zakharov.

As it is underlined, the highest rate of the resort fee should be paid to having a rest on Stavropol Territory – 50 rubles per person and each day of stay. In the Altai Territory, the fee will be 30 rubles, in the Krasnodar Territory – 10 rubles. The resort fee should also be paid by the tourists staying in hotels of Alushta, Yalta, Sudak, Evpatoria, Sak, Feodosia and the Black Sea region.
