Rusia está a favor de la introducción de un régimen sin visados con Sudáfrica y los países de la UE
According to the news posted on the official website of legal information, on Thursday, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree approving a new Foreign Policy Concept of the Russian Federation based on the idea of gradual abolition of the visa regime with member states of the European Union.
“The visa regime remains one of the main obstacles to the development of contacts between Russia and the EU. Mutual gradual abolition of the visa regime will encourage the strengthening co-operation between Russia and the EU countries in the economic, humanitarian, cultural, educational and other fields”, – states the document. The new concept also supposes to keep the intensive and mutually beneficial dialogue between Russia and the EU member states, in particular such as Germany, France, Italy, Spain and other countries.
At the same time, Russia now puts in place important steps to strengthen its cooperation with the Republic of South Africa.
During the Friday meeting with the vice-governor of the Murmansk Region Alexey Tyukavin, the minister plenipotentiary of the Embassy of South Africa Henry William Hurst reported that the visa-free regime between South Africa and Russia could start acting in 2017. The exact date of the visa-free regime introduction is not established yet. According to preliminary data, the regime of visa-free exchanges for up to 90 days may be introduced starting from January 2017.
According to the minister plenipotentiary, the introduction of a visa-free regime will contribute to the development of business and tourism areas of the two countries.
