San Petersburgo será sede de la Asamblea General de la OMT en 2019
According to the press service of the St. Petersburg City Committee for Tourism Development, the General Assembly of the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) will be held in St. Petersburg in 2019.
“Holding of the General Assembly will allow not only St. Petersburg but the whole country to boost its international standing and increase the tourists flow as well as involve world experts in the implementation of mechanisms for the further development of the Russian Federation and its subjects as the world's leading tourist center,” the committee noted.
According to the committee chairman Andrey Mushkaryov, the choice of the northern capital means its recognition by the world leaders of the tourist industry as the city able to become a center of cultural and business tourism.
It is worth noting that the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) is the leading international organization dedicated to the development of sustainable and generally accessible tourism. The supreme organ of the organization is the General Assembly held every two years. In 2019, St. Petersburg will host the Assembly and about 6,000 members of the organization.
