Los extranjeros que soliciten la visa rusa pasarán la dactilografía

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs proposed to take the fingerprints of all foreigners getting a Russian visa starting July 2014, – informs the agency “RIA Novosti”.

“Enter the dactylography from July, 1 of 2014 for foreign citizens and stateless persons while applying for the visas to enter the Russian Federation”, – quotes the media the draft of the document.

The project will soon begin to work in the test mode in some diplomatic missions and border control in the airport “Vnukovo”. Initially the project will be launched for the citizens of Namibia, UK, Denmark and Myanmar. According to experts, in future it will help to reduce the number of crimes committed by foreign citizens on the Russian territory, as well as reduce the possibility of a terrorist threat.

The cost of the project was taken by the Russian Foreign Ministry. The Department has to purchase the necessary equipment and develop procedures, and also to educate people.

The decision of MFA was made as a response to the European Union who introduced a mandatory fingerprinting procedure for the Russians from 2015. It was also taken into account the experience of Europe and the United States in a systematic prints scanning.
