El impuesto de turismo puede ser introducido en Rusia
The Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation proclaimed the possible amount of dues which will be charged from the tourists when staying in hotels in St. Petersburg and Moscow.
The Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev announced the possibility of the imposition of resort fees and taxi charges at a forum in Sochi. This is the second attempt to introduce a tourist tax in Russia – the first one was made in the nineties but failed.
Experts consider that the charges will provoke the dissatisfaction of the majority of tourists. Thus, for example, tourists who choose hostels may find this small amount excessive.
Tourist tax will become one of the regional dues by which Dmitry Medvedev proposed to replace the sales tax. At the same time may be introduced fees for the commerce power, for the provision of catering services and taxi services.
Charges may be introduced in 2015. The Ministry of Finance is preparing amendments to the Tax Code, said the Minister of Finance Anton Siluanov. As mentioned the Minister of Economic Development Alexei Ulyukayev, this is the preliminary proposal of the Ministry which should be treated with caution.
