La policía turística trabajará en Vladivostok
Since 1 February specialized tourist police platoon will be created in Vladivostok, which will be focused on providing assistance and support to foreign citizens.
“Today Primorsky Krai is a leader in the tourist industry of the Far East, taking more than 73% of the volume of tourist flows in the Far Eastern Federal District. The tourist flow continues to grow and therefore specialized tourist police platoon is being created in Vladivostok on 1 February 2020. Visually tourist police employees will wear an armband with inscriptions in Russian and English”, said press service of the local Ministry of Internal Affairs.
At present local government is recruiting specialized tourist police platoon. The main duties of tourist police will include ensuring the safety of foreigners in Russia, patrolling pedestrian zones, advising foreign tourists and promptly responding to illegal actions against tourists. All tourist police officers will receive necessary training of foreign language courses and rules of communication with tourists.
More than 632 thousand tourists visited Primorsky Krai during 9 months 2019. Most tourists come from Japan, China and the Republic of Korea.
