El número de turistas extranjeros en Rusia aumentará
Moscow has become one of the most profitable tourist capitals in Europe – reports “Rossiyskaya Gazeta”.
Questioned by the issue experts of this area told that the depreciation of the ruble can lead to the growth in the entry tourist flow for at least 40% and explained what measures should be taken to support this tendency.
“The decline of the domestic currency is always a powerful incentive to the entry tourism. In almost all cases this leads to the entry tourist boom. The depreciation of the national currency during the period of the global financial crisis of 2008 caused the reduction of prices for travelling in some European countries, which ensured the surge of tourists and saved the situation. Argentina which declared default twice, improved its economic situation owing to the entry tourism” – was quoted the executive director of the Association of Russian Tour Operators Maya Lomidze by the issue.
Currently, the cost of an average vacation package for foreign tourists in Moscow including accommodation, food and guided tours is 4–5 thousand rubles that is less than one hundred euro. Herewith, only accommodation in Paris or Barcelona will costs the travelers at least 70 euros per day.
In that way, Moscow is in an advantageous position and can compete with Europe in attracting tourists.
According to the experts, the visa regime is still a significant obstacle in this situation. To solve this problem Russia opens three new visa centers in China, because it is the most promising market for the country at the moment. In 2014 more than one million travelers from China came to Russia, and it is planned that in 2015 their number will significantly increase. The 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War will also contribute to this: Rosturizm and the Department of Tourism of China have agreed to a number of events dedicated to this date which will contribute to the military-patriotic education of youth.
